The students will roll dice to and determine who has the highest number the highest student gets to select their persona “costume” pieces “glasses and lei” then they will name the person to go next, the next person selects the next and so on until all students have been named and have their “costumes on” - all in the target language for the student level. Throughout the meal students will engage in informal conversation discussing the food, asking questions of each other. At the end of the meal the students will again roll the dice for turns in selecting their “dessert person cups” and the first choice for their “parachute” man. The meal will end with dessert and the parachute jumping contest!!!

Analysis of the Activity
All of the activities provide an opportunity for students to engage in natural (Gardner) language interactions. Food and fun will provide a positive energy for the optimal engagement of the Lembic memory to embed the learning. Hawaiian music will be played throughout. (L,K,Inter, Intra,N) (Self Talk, Strength, Body)

The complexity of the conversation will vary from NL to NH. NL students will speak in simple naming and action words and short phrases, the same setting could be used with more advanced students with the NH students engaging in more complex word phrases, sentences and some sense of grammar rules.
